So, i'm in school. "I'm not taking any projects until january," I utter. ding dong, universe calling: great show at sidekicks in need of "fill-in" host...indefinitely. It's a great friend and hilarious drag-Queen Daisy Bucket--she's going on tour with KINSEY SICKS(hilarious drag-appella group), and she asked if Dirty Dorothy would fill in for her. She's worked really hard at this show--it's fabulous! the other girls are soooo funny, and work well together, and i love them...so i said yes. it entails sunday night performance 8pm-10pm, and one rehearsal to run through set list and throw a couple of group #s together. I start first sunday in October. moderately profitable.

Cool.

Just got a call from budding producer in town i pitched on a project early in the year. he's ready to get together about project. extreme opportunity for lucrative venture. It would perform before the year's up.

I just don't know how to pass up opportunity...which usually equals me taking on too much.

hmmmmm.

OMG! i went to the best freaking party i've ever been to last night! It was called "the girl party," and hosted by a new friend of mine i met @ pi (coffee/really good food/art gallery next door to grinders on 18th and locust). She wanted to create a place once a month wehere women in the area could come network, meet, and celebrate womanhood. pretty cool concept (that sounded kinda gay, it's totally everyone not just lezzzies). Sooooo:

Ariel fabric show and burlesque plus great DJ!!!! The ariel fabric show was soo cool! OH---and the party was in the west bottoms in one of the amazing lofts there! This place was soo amazing! Very ron megee's old loft if you've ever been there. Like PeeWee's Playhouse for adults! The burlesque dancer ( i think she was called "lucky..." not sure) was sooooooo cute! Very sexy round! Such a tease! totally madam red's style! red you would have loved her! OY.

So, the party will be once a month. I'll keep you informed on the date----OH, you can go to myspace and type in girl party to keep up on it yourself too! Dirty Dorothy was invited to perform, so that will be fun!

kissies!

haven't posted in a while...

Went to heartland and had a freakin ball! It was the first year since i've been back that i was able to actually make the whole thing! Crazy. Because of school, i have to turn down most acting work until January, and it's seriously opened up my social life. It's weird to be a day person. Good weird. We've downsized our lives considerably to simplify. great plan. we actually have evenings to see people. and weedend nights. crazy! I like it.

One project i didn't pass up just got the green light. I recorded the voice of dorothy for the hallmark commemorative ornament! super fun! they had to send it to WB for approval, and they did. Coolest email i've ever recieved: "jessica, we're really excited, Warner Brothers approved your voice!" That felt cool. giggle. giggle some more. I think it comes out July 09.

So, since we moved back from CA, i've done nothing but think about going back. Today, i had the most interesting thought of "what if you were just fine being here." Like, "how would it feel to give up," so to speak, and just be happy and calm and grounded and content.

Then i thought: phewww! I can't wait to get back into things i love just because i love them! very interesting.

gotta go to work. kissies!

WOOOOHHHHHOOOOOO I'M 30!!! ...and i think this has been the best birthday yet! Got a pedicure (being a pisces, i take great joy in people messing with my feetsies!), went to lunch, got a shopping spree at the major thrift (best thrift store in the world) and found the most bad-ass seventies light khaki tan fur-trimmed jacket of life for $20, went to O'mally's and heard my new favorite band i can't remember the name of (but they will be back at o'mally's on st. pat's day), ate at pierpont's, ate at McCormick and Schmidts (super romantical!) had a super-funtastic surprise party in the bar at mccormick's (truly had no idea at all), big-time birthday sex, got a beautifully fabulous new painting for our bedroom, got ALL NEW MAKE-UP (my old stuff was really skanky), got loved on by lots of friends and family. This all took place over the course of a weekend. pretty fun. And now i'm 30.

I start school on the 11th for my estitician cert. the school does a CIDESCO certification which is international, so that's cool. Estitician liscense also covers my massage too, so sweet, 2 birds with one liscense. Um...that's all!

LOVES EVERYBODY!!!

j

so, i'm sitting here drinking a yummy wine and trying to "manage my account." i can't add pictures because everything i have is "too big." what the hell are pixells anyway? and why can i only have 100x100? i did manage to get my page to accidentally turn a cool sexy red mess. sweet.

SO, my show opened.

O lord.

the show itself is fine and very funny. (oh, yeah...other cast members you might know: paul burns, pete weber, curtis (crap can't remember his last name...). The venue, super hilarious. Club meneges is a swinger bar (apparently notorious...?). and the owners not so theatre minded we'll say. Opening night we get a "yeah, so you go to the opening type places and stuff, and i'll make the lights start, and music go off. so, uh, go then, okay. thanks" sweet jesus if we didn't stand on stage in the dark through 2 versus of "smoothe operator." I could have peed. then another night we had an "itchin" swinger crowd talking to us as though we were a tv. "fuck her! do it! give it to her!" think i did pee. and the largest/best crowd: laughed at all the right places, totally into every second, and flashed us tits at the curtain call. You people must come see this show (and i mean the club/audience. Did i mention they were the most attractive people i never expected to be at the swinger club? No, really, EVERYONE was BEAUTIFUL!!! i almost felt innadequate until i remembered i wasn't staying for the "please her" party. O, geeze, my life always makes me giggle! so come on a sat all together, and we'll stay after the show to dance and "watch the rest of the show!"

Good Behavior
by Ron Simonian

Opens Feb. 14th 2008! It's hilarious! It runs at Club Meneges @ 12th and Central (just barely west of central.)

The place is cool. I had no idea anyplace like this was down in the bottoms! It's normally a wild dance club (suds on the dance floor etc.), but the owner wants to run dinner theatre Wed through Sat nights. Wed and Thurs are an appetizer buffet, $20. food starts at 6, show starts at 7. Fri and Sat are salmon, steak, or chicken 3 course meal, $40. same start times. I need to double check the times. I'll post specifics again tomorrow night after i solidify my info.

AND:

The owner is turning it into a swingers bar after 10pm Fri and Sat. He's booking some of those 200 and 300 people gatherings at his place to kick it off. The parties i hear through the grape vine, i'll let you know if they really happen. But it is "swingin" after 10 on the weekends. ;>

I always say that...but i'm really going to try to this time...

Hi kids! i've been reading about how all of you are doing! I'm super great! Brief catch-up: lived out lease in river market;;;YAY;;; moved to our very close friend Chad Spears' house. He and his wife (however they will be divorced very soon, we love her too, it's a really pleasant split, they are in a great space with each other) have been close friends of ours for a few years, and he has a ginormous house with just him in it, so we moved in! this way we don't have to sign a lease and can move whenever we decide to purchase. Life's great. Psycho-busy, but what else is new? I'm opening a show with another old friend, Ron Simonian if anyone met him, at a club in the west bottoms. pretty cool independent space! Opens Valentines day. Still at Pierponts a few nights a week. Started at Starbucks for the benefits: THEY ARE CRAZY AMAZING!!! Anybody needing some great healthcare, retirement etc, you only have to work 20 hours/wk to maintain. Super great! Partner benefits (acutally i think you can carry anyone you want), and MAD CORPORATE DISCOUNTS EVERYWHERE!!!! They're verry eco-friendly and donation-happy, which is cool. Um...chopped my hair into a bitch-bob. kinda cleopatra-like. Seriously, think that's all that's going on. LOVE YA! read about ya soon!
j
